Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
--William Shakespeare ~~ Macbeth
Black Cats and Halloween
Black cats have long been connected with Halloween, usually as the companions of wizened witches flying on broomsticks. However, this association has tended to make the poor black cat a victim of mean spirited tricks and even outright cruelty, even in this day and age. I've got two black cats and I would recommend anyone who has cats to keep them safely indoors around Halloween.
